Apply Crème Elastine after serums on clean skin, morning or night. Use a hazelnut-sized amount across the face, neck, and décolleté. Ideal for dehydrated, aging, or elasticity-lacking skin.
It’s one of Biologique Recherche’s most misunderstood moisturizers, often used wrong, underwhelming for some, and life-changing for others.
Why? Because your results hinge on how you apply it and when you use it.
Read on to learn how to maximize its benefits, avoid the usual mistakes, and see plump, resilient skin in as little as 2 weeks.
Is Crème Elastine Right for You? Here’s How I Know

If you're like me, you've probably tried dozens of moisturizers that promise elasticity, glow, and hydration, but most just sit on the surface, looking shiny and doing very little.
Crème Elastine is different. This is a peptide-rich formula that doesn’t just hydrate, it supports your skin’s actual elastin fibers, helping you maintain that firm, plump, springy feel we start losing around our 30s.
This cream plays a vital role in any anti-aging routine, especially if you're beginning to notice that your skin doesn’t bounce back the way it used to.
Whether it’s from stress, too much travel, retinol use, or just life, Crème Elastine helps restore that inner resilience by mimicking the structure of healthy, elastic skin.
The texture is divine: creamy, lightweight, and breathable. It disappears into the skin without leaving that sticky or greasy film so many rich moisturizers do. You’ll feel moisturized, not masked.
I recommend Crème Elastine most often to clients with:
Dehydrated combination skin (especially if you're dry in some areas but oily in others)
First signs of fine lines (usually in the 30s)
A rotation of tretinoin or strong exfoliants like P50 (this cream helps buffer and repair on “off” nights)
However, it’s not for everyone. I don’t recommend this formula for clients with inflamed acne, rosacea, or eczema-prone skin.
There are other BR options better suited for sensitive or compromised skin: Emulsion Originelle for barrier repair, Verte Espoir for rosacea and redness, and Dermopurifiante for acne or congestion. Crème Elastine works best when your skin is balanced and ready to receive its active ingredients, not when it’s in crisis.
If you're unsure which cream fits your skin's current state, that’s exactly what we’re here for at KarinaNYC.
How To Use Crème Elastine Properly
When it’s time to apply Crème Elastine, less is more, but technique is everything.
Use a hazelnut-sized amount and warm it between your clean palms. Then, using upward strokes, press and glide it across your face, neck, and décolleté.
This helps stimulate circulation and ensures even absorption where skin needs support the most.
Always apply it after your serums, never before. I see so many clients layering incorrectly, which completely dulls the cream’s effect.
And please, no spatulas or cotton pads. Your fingertips are the best tool here. The warmth helps melt the cream into your skin, allowing those peptides and collagen boosters to actually do their job.
My Tips & Warnings

Here’s where most people unintentionally sabotage their results, not by using the wrong product, but by skipping the small details that make all the difference.
These are my non-negotiables when using Crème Elastine:
Clean fingers only. Product absorbs better when you apply it with the warmth of your hands.
Avoid your eyes and lips. This isn’t an eye cream, though BR has others we can recommend.
Use morning and/or night. I especially like it at night, after tretinoin, to buffer and restore hydration.
How It’s Different from Other BR Creams
With so many Biologique Recherche creams in the lineup, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Here’s how Crème Elastine stands apart, and when I reach for it instead of the others:
Vs. VG Derm

VG Derm is for barrier recovery, thicker and waxier. Crème Elastine feels lighter and gives elasticity, not just protection.Vs. Hydravit’s

Hydravit’s is lush and creamy, a great choice for immediate hydration. But Crème Elastine goes deeper, it not only hydrates over time, it also helps prevent visible signs of aging by supporting your skin’s natural elasticity network.Vs. Iso-Placenta

Placenta is corrective and regenerative. Elastine is proactive, your bounce-back cream, not your rescue plan.
Is It Rich Enough For Night, But Not Too Heavy For Oily Areas?
Absolutely. I use it on clients with combination skin all the time, it hydrates without greasing up your T-zone.
What Does It Smell Like?
Barely anything. It’s neutral, soft, and clean. Unlike Masque Vivant, it won’t haunt your pillowcase.
If you’ve used Crème Elastine and thought, “this doesn’t do anything,” chances are it wasn’t layered right. And that’s why our clients come back, because we don’t just sell skincare. We teach you how to use it correctly.
The Routine That Makes Crème Elastine Actually Work
Skincare only works when it’s consistent and properly layered. Even the most elegant formulas fall flat if they’re in the wrong order, or paired with the wrong actives.
That’s why when we recommend Crème Elastine at KarinaNYC, we always build it into a structured daily routine.
Morning Routine (AM): Set the Tone for the Day
1. Cleanser

Start with Lait EV (for dry or sensitive skin), Lait S.R. (for oily or congested skin), or Lait Dermo-S (for reactive, inflamed, or barrier-compromised skin). Massage gently and remove with lukewarm water or a damp cotton pad.
2. Exfoliation

Apply Lotion P50W for sensitive skin, or P50 for more resilient types. Choose the appropriate Lotion P50 variant based on your Skin Instant.
Press it in, don’t swipe. This preps your skin to absorb every step that follows.
3. Serum

Choose a hydrating serum based on your skin’s needs:
Amniotique VG for dehydration
Extraits Tissulaires for combo/oily skin
Iso-Placenta for post-acne or inflammation
4. Moisturizer

Warm a hazelnut-sized amount of Crème Elastine between your palms and apply in upward strokes to the face, neck, and décolleté.
5. Protection
Finish with a broad-spectrum SPF. This step is non-negotiable, Crème Elastine repairs, SPF protects.
Evening Routine (PM): Repair and Restore

1. Cleanser
Start fresh by thoroughly removing makeup, SPF, and daily buildup.
2. Exfoliation
Use P50 unless you’re applying retinol that night. Skip acids on retinol nights to avoid overstimulation.
3. Retinol (optional)
If you’re using tretinoin or any prescription-strength retinoid, apply it now. Wait 20 minutes before layering anything else.
4. Serum
Choose your hydrating or restorative serum based on current skin condition.
5. Crème Elastine
Apply it last. This cream seals in hydration and buffers your retinoid, helping prevent flaking or tightness while rebuilding elasticity overnight.
How Often Should You Use It?
If your skin is combination or dehydrated, I recommend using Crème Elastine twice daily, morning and night.

This regular use helps maintain hydration levels and gradually improves skin elasticity. Pair it with Amniotique VG and P50W for gentle exfoliation and deep hydration without overwhelming your skin.
For normal skin with early aging signs, nighttime-only use is usually ideal.

Skin does most of its repair work while you sleep, so layering Iso-Placenta and Complexe Royal underneath Crème Elastine allows it to work deeper, replenishing elasticity while softening fine lines.
If you're in barrier-repair mode, dealing with tightness, flaking, or overuse of actives, limit Crème Elastine to your nighttime routine and follow with a barrier-finishing layer.

I love combining it with Masque Vernix or Serum TEWL to rebuild moisture reserves and strengthen the skin’s defense.
What to Expect (and When) with Crème Elastine

Let’s set expectations realistically, because we believe in transparency:
In Week 1, most clients notice smoother texture and a subtle plumping effect, nothing dramatic yet, but a sign the cream is syncing with your skin.
By Weeks 2 to 3, fine lines begin to soften, especially around the mouth and eyes, as the peptides start supporting your skin’s elasticity network.
After one month and beyond, that’s when the real payoff begins: improved elasticity, firmer contours, and skin that looks bouncier, more alive, and better able to hold hydration.
This is where consistency truly shows.
We often see clients discouraged when they don’t see instant transformation. But Crème Elastine is like strength training for your skin, it builds over time.
What to Know Before You Doubt Your Results

Crème Elastine looks simple but performs differently depending on how and when you use it. Let’s break down some of the most frequent questions I get during consultations at KarinaNYC:
Can I Use This After Tretinoin?
Absolutely. Crème Elastine is one of my favorite buffers on retinoid nights. Either use it on “off” nights when you skip retinol, or apply it 20 minutes after your tretinoin to help restore elasticity and hydration while minimizing irritation. It’s gentle but deeply effective.
Can I Use It Under Makeup?
Yes, and it’s actually one of the few BR moisturizers that plays well with makeup. It sinks in beautifully without pilling or sliding, even under sunscreen and foundation. Just give it a minute to absorb before applying SPF or tint.
Will I Purge?
Purging is rare with this cream. However, I’ve seen breakouts happen when clients pile too many layers underneath or don’t give their skin time to adjust. If you’re breaking out, it’s often a sign you’re using the wrong serum, or too many at once.
Can I Use It Around Eyes Or Lips?
You can, carefully. I often use it as an eye cream substitute for clients who want hydration and elasticity without buying a second product. Dab lightly along the orbital bone. It’s a great multi-tasker when used correctly.
Noticing Changes? Here’s What’s Normal And What’s Not

There’s nothing worse than investing in a product and wondering if it’s doing anything. So here’s how to know if Crème Elastine is delivering what it promises, and what to tweak if it’s not.
💡 Signs It’s Working
Your skin feels bouncy, not tight or sticky
Fine lines start to blur and soften
You wake up with even, hydrated skin, that morning glow is your first win
⚠️ Signs It’s Not (And What To Adjust)
Still dry? You might need Colostrum VG instead, more lipidic, perfect for dry skin that drinks up moisture too fast.
Still tight? You’re likely missing a hydration serum layer underneath. Try Amniotique VG or Extraits Tissulaires based on your skin type.
Breaking out? Simplify. Crème Elastine isn’t typically comedogenic, so the culprit may be another serum or actives overused beneath it.
Skincare isn’t just about choosing great products, it’s about matching them to your skin’s real-time needs. That’s what we do every day at KarinaNYC.
If you’re unsure whether it’s working, or just want to get more from your routine, we’re here to help you build it right.
